Playa del Carmen, located on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, is famous for its stunning beaches and marine life. Among its most notable natural treasures are its coral reefs, which are not only a tourist attraction but also a vital ecosystem for marine biodiversity.<\/p>\n

PLAYA DEL CARMEN REEFS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The reefs of Playa del Carmen are part of the second largest barrier reef in the world, known as the Mesoamerican Reef System, which stretches from the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula to the Bay Islands in Honduras. Popular Dive Sites Jardines: An ideal site for beginner divers, known for its clear waters and abundance of colorful marine life. Tortugas: Famous for the regular presence of sea turtles and a variety of soft and hard corals. Paredes: An impressive reef featuring a vertical drop-off, home to large pelagic fish and diverse coral species.<\/p>\n

Our group of professionals will explain the necessary theory for the activity, help you perform some diving exercises in very shallow waters, and take you for a stroll on the reef up to a maximum depth of 12 meters. You will learn the basics skills you need to dive under the direct supervision of an instructor. You will also learn that you can breathe underwater, and if you like to do so, you’ll be able to take the Open Water course.
